Hello there! If you’ve stumbled on to this document, it means you’re probably looking to make money on SpaceDelta. Well, you’ve come to exactly the right place (If you couldn’t tell by the title)! In this guide there will be information about the general workings of the economy as well as a general route of progression on your journey to become wealthy. Without any further delay, let’s go!
Becoming A Tycoon
Understanding The Economy
SpaceDelta’s economy fluctuates heavily from the beginning of the season and throughout its entirety. As such, you should constantly shift your methods of making money. Each day the most sold items’ prices get reduced by a multiplier of 0.3, or 30%. In contrast, the least sold items’ prices get increased by that same multiplier. This creates large dips in price, forcing you, the Player, to alter their money-making methods. That’s all right though - It’s easier than it sounds.
Our economy is based largely upon active income. This means that you, the Player, must do something to earn your money. In the world of Skyblock, that means farming. Large mob farms will still be profitable, but will take longer to become profitable when taking the starting cost into consideration. Let’s get into the following section, which will show you a solid track of progression once you start the server.
The first step to creating a prosperous island is to create a farm. Farms are easy to set up, cost-effective, and provide a fantastic starting point for new players. Since our economy is centralized on farms, this is the best place to get started. Keep in mind that the type of farm you set up will influence your cash flow heavily, especially if you join days or weeks into the season. So, keep an eye on which crops have the best prices! Below will be two farm set ups; sugarcane and cactus.
Farms are a fantastic place to start when you first load up on your brand new island. They are very simple to set up, cost-effective, and they make good money off the bat. For example, the cactus farm shown below is a great place to start. Each layer the size of one chunk (16x16) requires 128x Cactus, 128x String, and 128x Sand. A single layer cactus farm can be seen below!
This totals to $13,250, but makes $5/min every layer you add. This may not sound like a lot, but a cactus farm 1 chunk large, 16x16x256 (LxWxH) would make roughly $585,000 per day! A cactus farm like this takes only a few hours to set up if you have the money, and it constantly makes money as it’s being set up which is the beauty of it. As a note, make sure you place down collection hoppers underneath your farm!
Another good example of a simple farm is a sugarcane farm. Sugarcane farms can be built in long rows that are easy to harvest. To begin setting up a sugarcane farm, you should dedicate one wall of your island’s border to the farm. Then, create an infinite water supply - You’re going to need it! Create three rows of dirt twenty blocks long. Now, put water between these rows of dirt and plant sugarcane on the dirt and wait for your crops to grow!
A simple setup like this takes less than an hour to set up and costs $31,860, rewarding you with $5,160 with each harvest! You can scale this farm quite easily by either lengthening the rows of dirt OR by stacking more dirt 4 blocks above the other dirt as seen in the picture above.
So let’s assume you’ve created a full-sized sugarcane and cactus farm (Full-sized being one chunk each). What’s next? Now that you’re making a few million dollars every day, it’s time to expand. The most logical route is to create a mob grinder both for XP and monetary purposes. The easiest and most profitable starting spawner setup is a sheep spawner. You can see an example of a sheep grinder below!
Put your sheep spawners right above the lava and you’ll be good to go! As a note, make sure to cover each chunk with at least one collection hopper. Multiple may be necessary depending on how many spawners you get. You should also make sure you place slabs of any kind on top of the spawners to prevent mobs spawning above your grinder. Each sheep spawner will cost you around $75,000, but you’ll be making $7,182 per day with each sheep spawner you add. At 1,000 sheep spawners, you’ll be out $75,000,000 but be making over $7,000,000 per day! So, where do you go from here? The answer lies in creepers!
A similar setup can be used with creepers, but you may find it is more efficient to drop them down a large shaft and directly into lava. Regardless, you do you! Set up your grinders however you like. Each creeper spawner costs $600,000 and rewards you with a daily income of $11,448. These spawners also give far more island value, so they’re better for climbing up that rather competitive ladder.
With your two large farms and two mob grinders, the only thing next is further expansion. Enlarging your farms and purchasing more spawners of varying different types will all help your income greatly! Good luck on your journey, and may the riches come flowing freely!
If you’ve made it this far, good job! You should be well on your way to making some good money here on SpaceDelta. Keep in mind, as stated earlier in the guide, our economy does fluctuate quite heavily. If you join later in the season, you may have to alter which crops you choose to create farms for or which mobs you make grinders for. You can always check the prices with /shop! Enjoy the rest of your day and as always, stay happy, stay healthy, and keep on playing Skyblock Aurora.
