The Run-Down

My my, hello there! Almost the end of January already - This year is flying by. We hope you’ve been loving SpaceDelta as much as we have, and we hope you’ve all been staying safe and healthy. With that, let’s get into the relatively brief patch notes for this week.

As the Administration and Development teams work on the new content that was mentioned in last week’s Dev Notes, we find this week to be quite slow in terms of fixing bugs. In addition, we’re in a state of waiting for our new content, but more on that later. This week, most of our changes revolved around runes. Recycling runes (Which can be done via the recycle bot, located directly left to /spawn) was given a large buff, making it worthwhile to recycle runes. You’re now given a much higher amount of EXP for doing so. In addition, a method for removing runes has been added. This can be accomplished via /rune remove, where a GUI will be brought up displaying the runes that are available to be removed. These runes do have a percentage chance to destroy themselves, though. Additionally, numerous optimizations with spawners and hoppers were made throughout the week to reduce server stress. Finally, a new method of gambling will be present; scratch offs! These lottery tickets will allow players to win percentages of a jackpot similar to how real-life scratch off tickets are used.

That’s all we’ve got for this week! That concludes the brief ‘Run-Down’ segment. If you’re interested in learning more about the changes made, refer down below. If not, that’s fine too! Stay safe, stay healthy, and we’ll see you all next week!

Bug Fixes

- Rune Recycling: The rune recycle bot has been there since the beginning; an old friend of the server’s, truly. However, he’s gone without much use. We thought it time to change that. Previously, the rune recycling bot would only give a bit of EXP for each rune recycled. Now, a significant boost to the amount of EXP the bot gives per rune has been put in place. This means that it’s now much more worthwhile to recycle your runes, which can be done by right clicking the bot that is located to the left of the spawn point.

- Hopper / Spawner: Similarly to last week, hoppers and spawners were putting quite the strain on the server. To remedy this, many changes were made to optimize both areas’ performance. As such, the stress placed on the server by both hoppers and spawners has been significantly reduced. This means that the server will experience less lag in general, something that is always useful.

New Content

- Scratch-Offs: Alongside the new casino coming, another new gambling method is becoming present on SpaceDelta; the scratch-off. These purchasable tickets will not cost much,  but will give the opportunity to win massive profits. There will be a general jackpot amount, which will be added to with each ticket purchased. These tickets will work much like real-life, where certain matching symbols will result in a win, where a portion of the jackpot will be given to the winner, and others will result in loss.

- Rune Removal: A suggestion made by both staff and players, rune removal has come to SpaceDelta. This is accomplished via the /rune remove command, where a GUI will be brought up showing which runes are present on the item you’re holding. Simply click on these items to remove them. There is a percentage chance that these runes will destroy, leaving an empty slot on the armor or tool. When successful, the rune will be placed into your inventory. Go on, give it a try!

That brings us to the end of this week’s Patch Notes. We hope it was an enjoyable week on Skyblock Aurora, and here’s to many weeks to come! The brand new casino and spawn will be coming in the next few weeks, so make sure to stay tuned for those! Keep on enjoying SpaceDelta, everybody!
