The Run-Down

Well hello there! February is rapidly approaching, and that means some holidays! Aside from the obvious, Chinese New Year is rapidly approaching, and soon the Year of the Metal Ox will be upon us. To celebrate this Holiday, we’ve got some big news! We’ll talk about that later, though. For now, let’s talk about the regular changes this week.

It was a fairly slow week this time around, with most of our changes occurring on the backend. Much like other weeks, these changes catered primarily towards spawners, hoppers, and optimizing various aspects of the server to create a better player-experience. Additionally, an issue with mobs spawning inside of blocks was resolved. This occurred with larger mobs such as Iron Golems and should no longer occur. Lastly, an issue with collection hoppers failing to transfer items into chests was resolved.

As I said, quite a slow week. Let’s get into the real news, though; the Chinese New Year. For this Holiday, we’ve decided to launch a very large event. This event will take place from February 12th to February 14th (Friday to Sunday) and will consist of some awesome things! Build your own fireworks, find a new friend, hear some stories, buy some delicious food, and don’t miss the giveaways. All this and more to look out for on SpaceDelta this coming Friday - Don’t miss it. That’s it for this week, though! We look forward to seeing you next week for another Patch Notes.

Bug Fixes

- Optimizations: On the backend side of the server this week, both spawners and hoppers underwent some further optimization. This is building upon the optimizations made in the previous weeks.

- Glitched Spawns: An issue regarding the spawning of larger mobs such as Iron Golems within walls was resolved. This issue occurred mainly if the spawner was too close to the wall, but should no longer occur.

- Hoppers: An issue with collection hoppers not transferring the items that they collected into chests (if any were connected) was resolved this week. This issue only occurred if the hoppers dumped into a chest, but this function should be operating smoothly once more.

New Content

- Chinese New Year: As the major talking point of this week, we’re proud to announce a celebratory event for this years’ Chinese New Year; the Year of The Metal Ox. You’ll be able to experience this event in-game from February 12th to February 14th! The event will consist of a newly-themed spawn, vendors who travelled the galaxy to meet with you, and much more! Full of giveaways, food, brand new pets, and fun stories, this is not an event you want to miss! Make sure you’re there!

That concludes this week’s Patch Notes; a short one, I know. Be on the lookout for next week, as we’ll have some more teasers towards the new event, some major news, and as always, our regularly scheduled programming. Stay safe, stay happy, and stay playing Skyblock Aurora.
